The Leadership Development Concours®
The Leadership Development Concours (LDC) is an ongoing professional development program for the senior management team at major corporations. Through a series of multi-company conferences, world-class authorities and thought leaders deliver breakthrough insights on new business strategies and management processes.
Many corporations utilize the program as a planned and disciplined way to have their executives step away from the pressures of day-today activities and think strategically. Why should you select The Leadership Development Concours when there are a multitude of options for education and training of executives? Because, unlike our competitors, we deliver high quality and relevance to your executives.
Too many executive education and management training programs go through the familiar motions but don't yield the desired business results: executive alignment, informed decisions, improved management, and enhanced leadership. Why?
Because too often:
- Discussion leaders are not world-class, and they lack the innate ability both to illuminate and to motivate.
- Content is not up-to-date. It doesn't reflect the latest developments in a rapidly changing business world and a rapidly changing technology context.
- Learning from the experiences of the representatives of other companies isn't part of the program - and other attendees aren't true peers.
- Unbiased interpretation is hard to find at conferences sponsored by vendors.
Contrast that with the "Concours" experience where most first-time attendees say it's the best business conference they have ever participated in.
Why? Because:
- Meetings are intimate in size and restricted to true peers.
- The world-renowned discussion leaders interact in depth with participants during half-day segments.
- Social functions are creative and fun for both attendees and their guests.
- Events are run with precision, and Concours staff epitomizes customer service.
- Our discussion leaders talk about their newest research, not their last book.
- Schedules and themes are published a year in advance of meetings to facilitate planning amid busy executive schedules.
We deliver on the promise of executive education. Our skilled and renowned discussion leaders provide unbiased information and breakthrough insights based on the latest research and corporate experiences. We create a "pure learning" environment, full of interaction and free of sales pitches.
The LDC specifically targets three distinct layers of a corporation's senior management team:
- Senior Executives: CEOs, Presidents of major divisions, Board members, and executive team members who report directly to the CEO.
- Executives: Senior Vice Presidents and Vice Presidents of major business processes and functions, including Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, and Information Technology (some of whom may also qualify as senior executives).
- Directors: Direct reports of executive team members and the "executives" group.
The conferences at each level are restricted to true peers and the messages from the thought leaders address the particular needs at that level. The basic philosophy is that executives over a function or process or division need to learn more about areas outside of their own domain in order to be more effective (i.e., CFOs need to learn more about information technology and human capital, and CIOs and CHROs need to learn more about finance).
Members of the Leadership Development Concours are entitled to:
- 2 seats at 4 Global Senior Executive Summits
- 2 seats at 6 Executive Summits
- 2 seats at 2 Senior Executive Interchanges
- 2 seats at 4 Executive Perspectives
