- In 2006 we were chosen for the development and global delivery of a Finance for HR Professionals program by The American Express Company. The purpose of the custom program was to raise financial skills and the business acumen of individuals working between business units and human resources. Selected workshop locations included Frankfurt, London, Singapore, Sydney, New Delhi, Mexico, Canada and Hong Kong, as well as almost a dozen U.S. locations.
- We have developed a custom education program for IT relationship managers by Merck. This customized Engagement Leader Development Program offered a focused, intensive career development opportunity to the individuals who had recently moved into new roles. We collaborated with Merck to develop learning components, provided conceptual frameworks in core competency areas related to their roles, and challenged individuals to think strategically from the perspective of their business customers. We developed and presented a series of nine intensive learning sessions, led by experienced faculty with input from Merck executives in cameo roles and from the participants themselves. Each workshop was approximately six hours long and included significant pre-work in the form of reading or projects. We used a combination of presentations, discussion, case studies, and structured exercises.
- We were selected by Humana to create and deliver a small group agent customer experience. We worked with Humana to develop a world-class agent value proposition including a customer experience specification and identifying "What is easy to do business with?" This work included interviewing Humana and independent insurance agents to develop and implement a world-class renewal process.
As part of our extended relationship with Humana we were asked to look at the process for Financial Recovery. Financial Recovery is involved in the post audit of paid claims in order to ensure that overpayments are recovered. Annual overpayments were running over $10 million per year. In order to conduct the analysis we performed a root cause analysis of paid claims. Segmentation of claims was conducted based upon error conditions, and recommendations were offered as to how to address the problems. Potential remediation of root causes was estimated at savings in excess of $2 Million.
- We were chosen by a global beverages company to develop a customized education program for 100 of its HR professionals with the objectives of creating a "step change" in the HR capability, and in equipping the HR staff with skills to think and act more strategically, and to partner better with other areas of the organization.
The customized course was taught in a series of two five-day sessions both in Europe and the U.S. In between sessions, participants completed a range of assignments which were designed to increase collaboration among HR staff and a team of experts. We chose the locations for the program delivery, managed logistics and staffed the sessions.
Major improvements in HR strategy and practices were realized upon completion of the capability development program. HR participants took with them from the experience an increased knowledge, skill set and business acumen in three mission critical areas: sourcing, performance and reward and organization and change management.
