Our History

Getting a Year's Work done in One Month

nGenera was started in early 2007 by Steve Papermaster and a small team that shared his vision of the Next Generation Enterprise.  We've put together a quick timeline that enumerates the milestones we've achieved since those early days.

January 2007
BSG Alliance is formed in Austin, Texas by Steve Papermaster, Colby Thames, Brian Magierski and a dozen other innovators.
February 2007 Work begins with our first set of customers, and the foundations for the Next Generation Enterprise are laid.
March 2007
We acquire Kalivo, Inc., maker of Web 2.0, on-demand collaboration software.
May 2007 BSG Alliance raises $20 million from Foundation Capital and Hummer Winblad Partners.  Warren Weiss and Mitchel Kertzman join the BSG Alliance board.
May 2007
We acquire The Concours Group, a highly respected research and executive education firm in Houston, Texas.
July 2007
Edward Mello and Stephen Douty, two technology industry veterans, join the BSG Alliance management team.
October 2007
We acquire Houston-based Industrial Science, maker of sophisticated business simulation software.
December 2007
We acquire Toronto-based New Paradigm, whose leader Don Tapscott is a world-renown visionary of how technological trends impact the enterprise.  Of note are New Paradigm's flagship research projects Enterprise 2.0 and Talent 2.0.
February 2008
Dr. Jim Cash, former James E. Robinson Professor, Harvard Business School and board member of General Electric, Microsoft, Wal*Mart, and Chubb, joins BSG Alliance's board of directors.
March 2008
BSG Alliance raises $50 million from Oak Investment Partners, Foundation Capital and Hummer Winblad.  Ren Riley joins the board of directors.
March 2008
We acquire Houston-based Iconixx Corporation, industry leader in compensation strategy and services.
April 2008 BSG Alliance becomes nGenera Corporation and launches a fully-integrated on-demand product suite focusing on leadership performance, talent management and development and the customer experience.
