Today’s successful recruiters (or, as I like to say… Talent Acquisition Innovators) are already aware of how Enterprise 2.0 technologies are changing the face of the talent landscape. In order to effectively manage the recruiting process, talent professionals have to understand the new world order. And the Enterprise 2.0 Conference, being held in Boston, MA on June 9-12 is just the kind of place savvy talent professionals will find the tools and information they need to build the Next Generation Workforce. Speaking of which, check out one of the E2.0 Conference offerings that deals specifically with the nGen Workforce:
Developing a Next Generation Workforce
The velocity and variability of today’s business environment has become more dynamic and unpredictable than ever before. The pace of change is so fast, that executives find it increasingly difficult, if not impossible, to keep their organizations performing and innovating at levels necessary to deliver optimal business results and competitive differentiation. What capabilities does an enterprise require to develop an agile workforce? How do organizations address the leadership gap? How do strategists address strategic talent initiatives? What analytics are necessary to link organizational capabilities with business strategy execution? What is the role of technology in developing a next generation workforce?

The next generation of Corporate Career websites are all about the candidate experience and the numerous opportunities that companies have to take advantage of Web 2.0 features and functionality.
Why should any organization even bother with this? Think “Competitive Advantage” as the national and international war for talent becomes fiercer.
Its crucial that companies of all sizes recognize and have ways of measuring the value of putting a dynamic and rich user experience in place that is underpinned by Web 2.0.
My advice to clients when helping them get to grips with Web 2.0 and next generation corporate career sites is that they ignore the future at their own peril and run huge risks in maintaining their legacy, static corporate websites.
Web 2.0 Drives Cost Effective Recruitment:
The need to acquire and retain the best candidates quickly and in the most cost-effective manner is driven by demographic conditions which have placed quite significant pressure on companies.
The web and the corporate career website has now become the major channel for attracting and acquiring candidates and for many companies is now the key source of new hires.
Candidates as Consumers:
In working with organizations globally, its surprising to discover how many of them fail to recognize that candidates are also consumers.
In random surveys I carried out with numerous candidates, I have been able to establish that candidate “…transfer their job seeking experience to the corporate brand”.
It’s also proven that that candidates usually “draw heavily on their consumer experiences” to set their expectations for their online job seeking experience.
