HowTo: handle aggregating content from multi-author blogs belongs to nGenera Product Management ![]() by Brittain on Mar 06, 2008 - 12:12 PM read 986 times |
This how-to was sparked by our aggregation of Eric Seubert, et al's Talent blog. Others with a multi-author blog may find this helpful so it's posted here.

There's a few things that can be done. The basic problem is there's no credible identity in the RSS feed from the Talent blog. Therefore, when we setup the feed we assign it an owner (you, in this case). When each entry is read we do pull the "Author" name and use that, but technically the conversation is still owned by you in BSGAlliance.com. Here's an example that (note, Tom's name):
Your options are:
- Leave the feed unchanged and tolerate having your picture on Tom's entry and he not having ownership of the post within BSGAlliance.com.
- Switch the owner of the feed to "Anonymous". In effect, you'll own none of the posts within BSGAlliance, but the names will be correct and the picture won't appear. Here's an example:
- Change your blog to offer a feed for each author (perhaps by tag). We'd then setup a feed for each author and problem solved! Somebody more experienced with wordpress (Susan or BrianM) can help with that.
