This is a call for all the employees of what was Iconixx, whose focus is the EIM (Enterprise Incentive Management) aka SPM (Sales Performance Management) product and consulting space, to come together and make use of the BSG Alliance e.Laborate community hub to begin to share ideas, experiences, concerns, problems and solutions.
The first order of business will be to get organized. ( smile. this will be FUN. )
This conversation is meant to gather ideas both broad and specific. That means everything that follows is like a "straw horse" for you to take shots at, and we, as a Team, will attempt to reach a consensus on How to Organize our SITE. This will be true of the other conversations to be held in our new "EIM-SPM-SalesComp Consulting" Interest Group. Here I am proposing a list of conversations that we need to organize. So, come one come all and let's show the old BSG Aliance Team that a new Team is here and ready to collaborate! ( smile!)
The first list we need to work on is that of the other conversations we need to have. I propose :
1. Define! - Define a mission and a vocabulary of the tasks at hand. Come up with a fun vocabulary of value packed terms we can throw around, that might even be useful as shorthand and for tagging. Define a structure for our Interest Group(s?) and blogs and conversations that is in line with our goals and values.
2. Prioritize! - the discussing what we should focus on first - I'll start a poll and ask what things would be most useful to have for Data Integration Skillset. Maybe someone in the Comp side will volunteer to make a list of priorities for shared stuff they think would be most useful.
3. Refine! - Go to the next level of detail in our definitions and objectives, choosing the best ideas from the above threads. By doing a live prototype and gathering feedback input, I hope to kick off an iterative design of how to organize such a large amount of stuff as is involved in EIM Data Integration, so that it does not become a tangled mess and overwhelm and put off participation and usage. Again, at this stage we should have split into Skillset groups like "Comp", "DI", and "Support/Maint", etc.
4. Keep it Going!
PLEASE PARTICIPATE ! :) Throw out any ideas, suggestions, problems, etc., or maybe even volunteer to do a list or lead a thread. It is easy to start a thread. That's what I am doing. So what if someone else comes in with a much better, clearer, simpler set of ideas - you can say you were just baiting to draw in the real experts. :)
Specific Ideas needed HERE are those that pertain to how we should organize this effort to Share our Ideas, Tools and Experiences for the benefit of all. (boy! That sounds like cools FUN to me, and I know how it sounds to Julien D., too J. Please don't be afraid to post anything, from silly banter to pages of serious suggestions and/or theory.
I think 1 KEY TO SUCCESS is to try to keep the postings/comment on subject and in well defined scope of each conversation; then having a well organized set of conversations. :)
